BNG launch moved to January 2024

Originally scheduled for implementation in November 2023, the rollout of Biodiversity Net Gain has been pushed back a few months to January 2024. This shift was initiated to give developers, local authorities, and other stakeholders more time to prepare for the policy's implementation effectively.

The decision to delay the rollout should not be seen as a setback but as a responsible approach to ensure that all parties involved have the necessary tools and knowledge to embrace BNG. It is a demonstration of the government's dedication to making the policy work effectively, without overwhelming those who must comply with it.
