We’re pleased to announce that our new Small Site BNG Portal is live.

The portal allows smaller independent developers or larger developers with smaller projects to quickly purchase their BNG units and rapidly solve their BNG problem. Designed to be able to help guide developers through a simple 6 Step Solution, assumming you have an Ecology Report and DEFRA Metric, there’s no reason you can’t get this resolved in under 10 minutes.
Biodiversity Units UK takes your requirements and matches it with one of our Fractional Unit suppliers who are happy to transact in hundredth’s of a unit amounts. We then offer a reservation deposit of 20% giving you access to paperwork which can be used to get through planning or your money back.
Once you’ve successfully completed the planning process, come back to the portal - complete your purchase and we’ll complete the necessary paperwork to get your units registered with DEFRA and the necessary paper work in your inbox to help remove your BNG planning condition.
Here’s how it works:
Step 1 - Create your project
To start your journey with us, begin by creating your project within this BNG Customer Portal. All we need is information about your development. This process takes less than a minute to get started.
Step 2 - Upload your Ecologist and DEFRA reports
We then ask for your Ecologist report and DEFRA metric. If you don't have an Ecologist report yet, don't worry. You can save your progress and come back to proceed, once you have it. Need help arranging your Ecologist report, we can help with that.
Step 3 - Submit your order
Once all your project details are in place you can create your order. Select from a list of units and tell us what you need. When you submit your order, our team will review your project details and requirements to give you the confidence you are purchasing the right BNG for your project.
Step 4 - Pay your deposit
Once your order has been approved by our team, you will receive an invoice to pay a 20% deposit. Payment of the deposit will secure your BNG.
Step 5 - Get Planning
Once you have planning approval and are ready to complete on purchase, let us know and you will be invoiced for the remaining amount
Step 6 - Job Complete
On receipt of full payment, we will finalise the registration of your BNG. You will receive confirmation of purchase and all will be updated within our BNG Customer Portal for reference.
